NAPDNB is incredibly stoked to provide Indy with not one but TWO special guests on April 9th, while only making you remember one name! First up, we welcome home Indy's long lost weapon, Dave Owen! Based out of NYC these days, Dave continues to roll out a versatile array of subgenre goodness from liquid to techy rollers, all full of the soul and groove that makes any D.O tune bring a dance floor to its knees. Releasing on some of the most major DNB labels like Dispatch, 31 and Metalheadz, and producing along side equally heavy hitters Adred, Random Movement and NC-17, Dave is a benchmark for the type of talent Indiana and the Midwest contributes to the world of dance music.
Our second Dave of the evening is something of a US DNB godfather and current Don of the Massives all around the east coast, Dave Shichman! With 20+ years dedicated to the scene, Dave has worked both behind scenes and behind the decks as a DNB renaissance man: Dj, Producer, Vocalist, Promoter, Label & Artist manager & owner of Driven AM, the North
American DnB Artist Management, Record Label, and East Coast Event Production company. Co, owner of BBS Gear alongside DB & DJ DARA. Co, Owner of BIG DRUM & BASS with Dieselboy. When you think of someone who’s given their all to this music, Dave Shichman should be at the top of your thoughts! Without people like him in the beginning, there would be no DNB resurgence happening now. The groundwork was paved by the work he’s been doing for longer than many have been raving. To get to bring him back to the Mel is a giant privilege and we’re positive you’re going to be blown away by the depths of his crates and meticulous arrangements!
Supporting crew of rabble rousers for the main room spent many, many years honing their craft along side Dave Owen, and all claim to have taught him everything he knows weirdly enough LOL Stepping through to deliver the deep and heady vibes are Sea Monkey and Johnny Utah, with Gizzmo ready with his bags of hammers to satisfy the rough and ready crowd. Catch even more hijinx in the back room as the NAPDNB All-Stars, Antik One, Gizzmo, Rin Tin, Rich Lather and Grimey Kids take control all night long! This is truly the biggest night of DNB for Indy with 10 artists set to show you just what the range and vibrancy of the genre really sounds like.
