[Mix] NAP DNB presents NAPCast 051 - Roots Iric

Round here, we call them BIRDS, but this one is lovingly dedicated to all the ladies of drum & bass (and the secret ragga heads) from our very own godfather, Roots Iric. The subs are going to get a work out as he pummels them for a solid hour and then pushes them a little further.

I don't know about you guys, but nothing gets me ready for summer like a really danceable jungle/ragga set. Roots has set the bar repeatedly for what everyone should look for in a mix, from any sub-genre of dnb, but if you're leaning towards that rasta flavor for your ear holes, you'll want to favorite this mix immediately. Once again drum and bass shows how it lends itself to yet another powerful genre, and combines to bring about beautiful grooves. The power rings true all the way through this mix, each song building upon the next to seemingly get better from one to the other. Roots Iric's track selection really allows him to flex his love of music and how these two genres can make each other so much brighter and stronger when put together. Try doing that with anything on the pop radio.

Spend some time talking with Roots the next time you see him out and I promise you will feel his intense energy full of love for dnb and music on the whole. He has much to offer everyone, especially about respect and support; a true junglist principle.

Fear not if you're not wild about ragga and jump up. I told you he's worked this one for over an hour, and he brings it hard with some banging floor burners. The new heads and old alike will be jamming to this one, no doubt. That's what it's all about round here too. Much love to Roots for masting the art of a theme focused mix with the sweet honey lady vocals all the way to end!
