[Mix] NAP DNB presents NAPCast 037 - Roots Iric

Calling all the Rudeboys and Dance Hall Queens on this NAPCast! After such an unseasonably warm weekend, our minds have been lured into dreaming of full time sunshine and outdoor adventures. What's the perfect soundtrack to this day dreaming?? The sounds of the islands, of course! Our favorite soundbwoy, Roots Iric, is hitting us hard with some soundclash and straight up reggae riddims that we junglist know and love so well. This is just a taste of what Roots has been doing for well over 20 years.

Having played drums touring nationally with multiple reggae bands at an early age, his 20s is when DJing really took shape. In 93/94 while at a Fresh Event in Ashville, NC, he hooked up with fellow junglist Jah Seh, from Cincinnati, to form Higher Ground Movement, and tore the roof off the place. The combination was electric. In 2003, they decided to focus strictly on Soundclash and toured and opened for HUGE talent like Sizzla, Damien Marley, Stephen Marley, Grand Master Flash and Dougie Fresh.

Look for Roots Iric to do something new with Dancehall that will surely be mind expanding, hopefully in the near future. This mix is a classic tribute to all things ragga jungle, reggae and soundclash, complete with his exclusive dubplate collection. We are so blessed to be graced with Roots Iric as a supporter of what we do at NAPDNB; THIS IS DEDICATED TO THE SOUND WE LOVE!
