Ya know what’s the best? Kicking Monday off with the hangover of success still heavy on your mind. We had another successful night at the Boiler Room Barcade on Saturday, and we really couldn’t be more thankful to for everyone who came out and for everyone who played!
Not only were we celebrating our love of Drum and Bass AND my birthday, but we saw a BUNCH of new faces who sought us out to get their fix. If you guys are reading this, once again, WELCOME to our motley crew!! Your attendance was very much appreciated. We do this for the love it, and will keep bringing you the best in DNB if you keep telling us you want it!
Since it was my birthday party on Saturday, I bought myself a new pair of dancing shoes to break in, and the gents of the decks did NOT disappoint. Vibes so thick they kept me grooving well into the night only to get destroyed by the dueling Ben’s of Gizzmo and Johnny Utah. Only problem was, I totally asked Gizzmo to stop playing so many good songs in a row, and apparently he doesn’t listen. Typical. So here we have yet another example of how he doesn’t listen, as he BLISTERS through this week’s NAPCast. Grandpa status being what it is, there is much wisdom to be found in these here tracks. If you’ve been in the scene for a while or are acquainted with the bearded one, you may know that his education in electronic music spans far and wide, and deeeeeeep. And he’s masterful at every genre he toys with. Everything about this mix makes me incredibly happy to brag about just what a bad ass Indiana has in it’s ranks. If you like it heavy, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t, strap on in for this one as Giz assaults your ear drums with a tonnage of bass and unrelenting drums. If this mix doesn’t make you want to noodle dance just like Giz, your soul is dead and you should give up. Just sayin’. SO GET TO IT KIDDIES!!
And mark your calendars, tie a string on your finger, set the alarm on your phones, and make sure you let work know you’r going to be late on 10/14 because you have to be at the Melody Inn on 10/13 for some serious bass in your face when we bring you Sage all the way from Ireland!!
