Happy Monday, Jungle fans! We've let Courtney take the week off after celebrating her wedding reception and spending time with family, so I've stepped in to fill the gap. In case you missed the memo, NAP DNB DJ Antik One and our own blog writer Courtney LaFavor quietly tied the knot back in December. Since they didn't get to have a proper party with us in Indianapolis, friends and family got to celebrate with them on Saturday in downtown Indianapolis. The bride and groom looked lovely and good times were had. From myself and the rest of the NAP DNB crew, I want to congratulate Pete and Courtney on their union and we wish them many many years of love, laughter and jungle music!
Moving on to this week's mix, we've got a 90-minute vibe fest from Ohio's own, DJ/MC Jinx. Jinx started in the Cleveland scene in 1989 as an MC working with Counter Culture Collective and quickly started expanding his skills to DJing as well. Playing regular shows at Club One, Smart Bar, Alter House, and U4IA as well as working with Akron's Eternal Peace Tribe, there was no dancefloor Jinx couldn't rock. In 1996, Jinx moved to Columbus, Ohio to continue his journey as a musician and can now be found weekly on Monday nights from 8pm-10pm on www.soulfulvibe.com. This mix is very fun to listen to and got me hooked from the very first track, a nasty jungle remix of the EZ Rollers classic, Tough at the Top. The mix keeps you moving with dark neuro, chopped jungle, and liquid rollers, guaranteed to make you forget about the work week in front of you and escape via the sounds of drum & bass.
